The holidays are over. It sure seemed to go quickly -- perhaps too quickly. I am disappointed that I simply gave cash as gifts this year. I should have made the effort to find gifts and wrap them -- but I was so busy at the year's end. Perhaps next year I'll get my shit together.

Yesterday I entered a Queer As Folk fan fiction contest. I had started to write an entry weeks ago, but suffered from writer's block. Yesterday, however, I was able to come up with a decent little story. Who knows if it will make the final three, but it was fun to write. Having my entry selected would simply be a big bonus.

I am often intrigued yet alarmed by the number of nude photos that show up on the internet -- and these aren't tasteful nude images, either. They are photos of everyday people trying to allure and seduce others. They are often astonishingly graphic and usually of poor quality.

I am not a prude, but I have never allowed anyone to photograph me nude. (Okay, you got me. No one has ever asked me to strip for a photo session.) Even if my body suddenly became the most beautiful in the world, I don't think I would ever pose nude. Photos like those always seem to come back and bite you in the butt just when things are going well. Just ask Vanessa Williams.

Today I got a flu shot. It truly sounds like something a grandma would schedule -- the annual flu vaccine. Oh well. If it prevents a bout of the flu, then it is time well spent.

Last night I watched 20/20 on ABC. They interviewed Marty Thomas about his Star Search win over Britney Spears ten years ago. It was neat to see Marty on television after talking to him a couple of weeks ago when I interviewed him for Qtexas magazine.

Today I got a call from Linda Eder's publicist. Linda will be touring Texas the first part of December, and they wondered if I would like to interview her. I am amazed by the number of people who are beginning to contact me to do interviews -- from people who are just starting careers all the way to Broadway diva Linda Eder. I am still waiting to hear from Cyndi Lauper's people. That would be a truly amazing interview.
